Here is a sweet raku pottery basket signed by Sue Hara. The shape is irregular, but it stands solidly at 13" high, and about 4" wide at the widest point. The piece can be enjoyed from many angles. The mottled colour actually changes with the light. The rim is so very thin and fragile, it was bound to sustain damage over time. The repair is well done, and doesn't really show from certain angles. This vase is meant for a dry arrangement, and has only been used for such. The piece is truly organic - it seems to have sprung from the living earth. The piece has spent many years with me, and it's time to move on to a new family. Here is what has been written about her style: "She is most well known for her delicate, almost ethereal nature-inspired motifs." "Sue Hara is a well-respected local potter with many years experience. A gardener, floral designer and member of the Ancient Forest Alignment, Sue feels passionately about the state of our fragile planet." Please call 250 658-0587 to view. Asking $59 OBO.
