Steel Stud Framer/Drywaller for Hospital Project Position Title: Steel Stud Framer/Drywaller Location: Cowichan Hospital, British Columbia Company: Carpenters Regional Council Position Type: Full-Time, Project-Based Wage: $23.32 to $42.40 p/h DOE as well as 10% holiday pay. There is pension and benefit contributions as well. Overview: The Carpenters Regional Council is seeking experienced Steel Stud Framers/Drywallers to join our team for an exciting hospital project at Cowichan Hospital in British Columbia. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a significant healthcare facility, ensuring high standards of quality and craftsmanship. ***Must reside within 75km from Duncan, BC to quality. Key Responsibilities: - Measure, cut, and install metal studs and track to form walls and partitions according to blueprints and specifications. - Ensure all framing is square, level, and plumb. - Measure, cut, and fit drywall panels to walls and ceilings. - Secure drywall sheets to the metal or wooden studs. - Prepare drywall panels for painting by taping joints and finishing seams. - Inspect and ensure the highest quality of work. - Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. - Work closely with other trades on-site to ensure timely and efficient project completion. - Communicate effectively with supervisors and project managers. Qualifications: Experience: - Minimum of 2 years experience in steel stud framing and drywall installation, preferably on commercial or healthcare projects. - Must reside within 75km from Duncan, BC to quality. Skills: - Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. - Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools. - Certifications: - Valid certification in steel stud framing and drywall installation. - Safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, fall protection) are preferred. Attributes: - Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. - Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity.
