What You Will Do Here * Operate equipment on public roadways, always being aware of surroundings. * Use equipment to dig, load and move dirt, gravel, and other materials. * Operate equipment in a safe manner, following all OHS safety regulations. * Preventative maintenance of equipment and daily safety checks. * Work collaboratively with crew. * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. * Secure the load after it has been lifted and properly stow equipment, stabilizers, winches and any other moving parts. * Keep loads as low to the ground as is reasonably safe when performing lifts. * Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging. What You Bring to the Team * 3+ years’ experience as an Equipment Operator in a roadway construction capacity. * Experience operating one or more of the following: Excavator, Screed, Loader, Grader, Skid steer, and/or Paver. * Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and stand/walk for long periods of time. Excellent manual dexterity, flexibility, and physical strength * Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors, and the public in a courteous, professional manner at all times. * Excellent depth perception, hand-eye coordination and a fast reaction time. * Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation * Willing to work overtime, as required. * Be a champion of inclusion and diversityThe expected pay range for this position is $34.59 - $43.24/hr.
